The Association for Information Systems – AIS (www.aisnet.org) and the 16th Americas Conference on Information Systems – AMCIS 2010 (www.amcis2010.org) are proud to continue the successful CIO Symposium program begun two years ago in Paris, France. The goal of the symposium is to facilitate a productive dialogue between the academic and CIO communities, thus narrowing the gap between research and practice.

What’s new for the 2010 CIO Symposium?
    • First, in addition to being held during AMCIS 2010, it has evolved from its initial offering during the past years into a full-day event, with international CIOs.
    • Second, the focus will be on the interaction between leading academics and CIOs from around the world, and on issues recognized as fundamental to the success of both constituencies.
    • Third, the sessions will address three important themes:
      • Emerging Technologies
      • Empowering IT
      • IT Governance

The dialogue that will ensue during the symposium will have the two communities engaging in deep debate and discussion clarifying strategic issues that face CIOs around the world.
